I keep getting surprised by how young the majority of this fandom seems to be. The manga and original anime are long finished and the OVAs weren’t that well promoted in the West. And even so the last one came out in….2012? So it’s still been awhile.
Where did you folks even hear about Hellsing?
2001. A small college midnight anime showing. They had one a month (week? Shit, I dont remember…), went to three or four with friends.
Showed the Japanese version of Hellsing, Witch Hunter Robin, aaaand… I dont remember what else. Though there were some fucking hilarious fan edited videos that I wish I could find again, lol.
At the time I dont think either anime had been dubbed yet or if they had, only just freshly so.
Funny thing: my fave characters were Alucard and Amon, and Crispin went on to voice them both XD
I started with the Abridged series, then read the manga online. I’m comparatively new to Hellsing, I’ve only been in the fandom for about two and a half months or so.
